I suspect Rangers are tanking on purpose. There is no way the team that beat us ties Arirang, no way. AC Boys, when you're doing your calculations to see who gets to the top four. Keep that in mind, and good luck on the next two games. We hate you all for beating us, but you make papa bear proud if you make the playoffs.

Well Arriang beat us and we tied the Rangers so its possible that they just came to play. Arriang has some good offensive players.

Possibly. I just saying, based on my observation of the strengths of each team in Div 4, the only way Rangers is not in division 3 next Spring, is if they do not want to be, and remember how badly they tanked at the end of Spring last year? They need to lose/tie and hope CFC wins to do that.

I watched the first half of that game, Airirang really came to play. It looked like Rangers had their full squad also. The only thing I noticed is that Rangers weren't nearly as aggressive as they normally are. I'm not saying that they've tanked on purpose but since we've been playing there are 3 teams that I thought were too talented for D4, Memphis International, Real Memphis and Rangers. Real and International have both moved up to D1!!!
***edit*** I forgot about Strikers and Americans, so 5 teams that shouldn't have been in D4.

We can definitely argue this both ways. I've always thought they told a couple people not to show up at the end of the season, or just to take it easy. The way they've freight trained through teams makes it a head scratcher. Of course, we can argue some of the other games as flukes as well. I'm completely baffled at how we lost against TN United.

Wow, I admire that a Ranger's player would care about ramblings on an opponants website enough to join another teams website just to add to the conversation.

Well I welcome the chance for you guys to prove me wrong and not tie/lose out the season and have CFC misteriously beat you due to late season losses. Hmm I seem to remember Olympic Memphis and MidtownSC doing the same thing last Spring. Again. Glad you joined our conversation. Please make me eat my words.

Now's a good time to give a little anecdote of Nutbush vs Rangers this season.

Rangers Player punches FCNutbush player in the gut.
FCNutbush player's response, "you're a fucking asshole"
Rangers Player's response "This is why no one likes playing Nutbush".

By the way Frayser Boys,

Did you see this link on the GMSA webpage:

The top four teams from Men's Second, Third & Fourth Divisions qualify for the Victory Cup.
The next four remaining teams from those divisions combined, with the highest point totals, will also qualify.
Below is the current wild-card standings table for the Victory Cup. Teams that currently qualify are highlighted.

As of Oct 22nd:
WC 1: Midtown Sunday
WC 2: Pride FC
WC 3: AC Frayser
WC 4: Memphis Athletic

Ah yes, the "nice guy" approach! After punching, elbowing or kicking in the back of someones ankles, they'll say sorry and it makes it alright! Then they'll ask why you're mad at them, after all they did apologize.

Just having some fun with this Rangers, I've enjoyed playing your team for the most part even though you hand us our ass every time we play.

Hopefully it will stay that way on the wildcard. I don't see TN United beating Rangers or CFC (their last two games). Pride plays Express and Hanmaum at the end who are both fighting to stay out of last place. To stay at that wildcard spot we still need to win one more (Express) and possibly get at least a draw from CFC. It'd be nice to play one playoff game.

Back to rangers for a second - literally 45 seconds into the first half I had to full sprint to chase mohawk and barely got my foot in front of his for a crack on goal inside the box. My recollection of everything else is foggy at best, but the draw was hard earned. It certainly didn't feel like a throw with all the bumps and knocks.

Sorry to jump on your board but I started this team and when this thread was brought to my attention I was a bit surprised that we would be accused of tanking.

I wouldn't stand for it and no one on the team has ever mentioned it, I think they would be afraid to mention it.

We don't dive (in the box or out) and we don't tank games.

Seriously, if we were going to tank a game we could have thrown the Cambodian game and no one would have thought twice about it. Cambodian would be undefeated and we wouldn't have a shot at winning the division. Also the fact that someone thinks we tanked last season is hilarious. We sucked last season.

Against AC Frayser we were missing the majority of our midfield and two forwards. I had defensive guys playing midfield and it showed. Against Arirang we were flat. We were actually flat against Pride the week before but luckily they were flat as well.

Anyway, I'll back off now, good luck with the rest of your season.

I am another Ranger player and let me just say that that explains alot. I remember this instance and let me just say that I would never intentionally punch anyone in the gut. I'm sorry that you think I did. My take on it is that we were playing quite aggresively and there was some bumping and banging going on. That's how games sometimes get. I got 23 stitches in my melon last night to prove it. I beleive that it is probably really diffucult to punch someone in the gut while running behind said recipient of the gut punch. Furthermore, I would like to think that if I had intentionally punched someone twice my size in the gut, that I would have promptly been pummelled. At any rate, sorry about the misunderstanding.

As for the subject of us throwing games. Get real guys! A couple of seasons ago Arrirang destroyed us. What about our first game that we lost to the Warriors, I suppose we threw that one too? This is GMSA D4 "RECREATIONAL" soccer. On any given day any team can come out and stomp the piss out of the other one. It just depends on who shows up and which team wants it more.

Good luck with the rest or your season and try not to read so much into a Rangers / Arrirang 1 -1 tie.

Nice try, guys. We all know you guys threw the games to cover an elaborate D4 gambling scheme you've had set forth since the beginning of this season. I for one will be contacting local law enforcement. I suggest you two get lawyers.

It was an elbow and was my gut, it is a big target. That was the extent of the exchange, if I thought it was intentional I would have retaliated with more than cuss words. I thought it was funny, get hit in the gut, call someone a fucking asshole and get told that's why no one likes playing Nutbush! Good times!!

You guys are cracking me up. I have ALWAYS enjoyed playing you guys. I HAVE always thought of you guys as a good team that needed just a couple of key players. You have a pretty solid defense and the best keeper in D4. A couple of productive goal scorers and a team turnout of more than 10 or 11 and you guys would be at the top. We never have or will tank games, as my teammates have said its D4 soccer. Some games you play well and some you dont. I personally would love to move up as father time is catching up with me. We did play really well against you guys but that is ONLY because we caught a glimpse of Vanhorns comments and it REALLY motivated us. I sincerely wish you guys the best and I wish we could SQUASH all this TANKING nonsense.

Jeff

P.S. We have NO affiliation with that SCUMBAG Rangers coed team as most of us play on Predators FC. We had some quality coed games in the past. Good time especially that 0-0 tie last season. (just didnt want you to get os confused with those Coed A$$holes)

Man! Three Rangers joining our site in one day! I have to admit, I'm a bit impressed with even knowing about our little site. Let me say a few things.

1. I respect and enjoy the playing the Rangers
2. Part of my suspicion is due to that respect of talent on your squad, just comparing you vs us vs arirang seemed to be impossible.
3. FCNutbush may call people assholes but we dont pummel, We're not YoungGuns or Olympic Memphis.
4. Sorry about your head.
5. Good luck one finishing this season. If you win. I'll gladly join your team's website and salute you and apologize.

I think we're just having a bit of fun with this! Most of the guys on your team I enjoy playing against. I've always thought your team was one of the more talented teams in D4, I know in the past you've suffered through some injuries which has probably had as much to do with you staying behind as anything else.

Airirang isn't a bad team at all, you guys were definitely flat though. Like I said normally your pressure on the ball is unlike any other team, you just didn't seem to have that last game.

Spot on about Rangers Coed!!

Time for a Rangers Coed anecdote:

FC Nubush player accidentally kicks a ball into the face of a girl. Ball goes out as a result
Referee (who I remember plays for Strikers) stops play, so girl can recover.
When ball is put back in play Ranger's Coed player (who also plays on Strikers if my memory is correct) tells the ref its their ball because we intentionally hurt their player.

I have money on Rangers, I knew they needed motivation and also knew they scouted our website. I figured if I could get enough of them pissed at me on our site they beat the hell out of TN United to spite me.

They win,
I win.

it's a win win.

Rangers Suspicion, Frayser Boys read this too! Empty I can motivate the Rangers

Post  v.Horn Wed Oct 22, 2008 9:11 pm

Hey, since I can't seem to motivate my own team, are you guys in need of a big mouth defender? If other teams are going to read my Knute Rockne speeches and use it against me, I'm putting myself under a protective gag order.

And I am going to vote that you guys tank. I've been in the league for 8 seasons now and you guys have been too good for too long to have not made the jump. Bad luck just doesn't last that long. Well, now that I think of it, my second marriage did. My bad....................v.horn

Van don't sell yourself short, you don't motivate us but you teach us younger guys some important life lessons off the pitch.
Here are some examples:
bathe more often (vicks vapo rub + funk = vomit)
trim nose hair (i bet when you sneeze it looks like a party favor)
Viagra will make you go insane!

Rangers Suspicion, Frayser Boys read this too! Empty Re: Rangers Suspicion, Frayser Boys read this too!

In 4 seasons with the team, I can say that I agree with our Ranger friends that this is the D4 with the most "Parity". I do believe several teams are very equal and there is a true "Any given Sunday" group of teams.

As evidence in the fact that 6 teams have a goal differential of +1 to -5. Had Nutbush not collapsed this season with subs, I honestly feel it would have been 7 teams in that bracket, we're definately a "Tale of two teams" this season. Hanmaum's collapse with subs this season was also quite a surprise, and Express is really coming on in season 3 of their team.

However, one could argue that a team capable of a generating a +28 goal differential in 8 games might possibly be throwing the last 2 games to make sure they are not on top.

On top of stats, because of the weird schedule this year Arirang was the team Nutbush played twice. So I have two games to reference as to how they measure up against Nutbush, and how Nutbush measured against Rangers. One Game they attacked us like a Rangers storm and we won 2-1. The other game was the beginning of the end for Nutbush and we lost 1 - 0. So based on that compared to the 6-0 ass whupping you gave us, it's very difficult to believe a honest 1-1 tie between you two.

So again, sorry I offended. I was just looking at previous play and league stats to make my claim. I do hope that CFC can not catch you guys and you get 3 more points Sunday, Not to get rid of you guys because playing you is fun, but I'm hoping baby bear Frayser can keep CFC from getting 3 points on Sunday. Frayser was born because Nutbush did not make the playoffs soon enough, so it will be good to see them accomplish their mission.
